Itinerary Overview
Lalibela (ላሊበላ) is history and mystery etched in stone. Its soul teems with the rites and reverence of Christianity in its most ancient and steadfast form. A World Heritage Site, it is also a true wonder of the world. To hold a vigil here during one of the great religious holidays, such as Orthodox Christmas, when hundreds of white-clad pilgrims throng the cemeteries, is to experience Christianity in its purest and most powerful form.
