Itinerary Overview
Bahir Dar and Gondar are popular destinations for domestic tourism and important cities for Amhara cultural heritage.

Bahir Dar is known for Lake Tana, the largest in the country, surrounded by monasteries and a peninsula, and for the Chis Abay waterfall, a suburb of Bahir Dar just 29 km away.

The city Gondar is also very clean and features palm-lined avenues. Gondar is famous for its Royal Complex, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with several castles and palaces, as Gondar was the seat of central government from the 17th to the mid-19th century.
